160 Charles Street is a 20 storey tower block on Charles Street in Royston, north Glasgow. Approved in 1959 as one of three high rises in the 'Royston Area A' CDA. Construction was carried out by Wimpey and took just 8 months to complete and the project was influential in mnaking high rise flats a popular and fast solution to Glasgow's housing problems. In the early 1970s, two more tower blocks were added to the estate.
