53 Carbisdale Street

53 Carbisdale Street is a 15 storey tower block in Fernbank, Springburn in north Glasgow. It was approved along with three other high rises in the 1st development of the Fernbank project in 1961. Construction was carried out by Wight and the building contains 55 flats owned by the Scottish Special Housing Association. It will be refurbished over the next few years which will see the balconies enclosed among other internal improvements. This comes after investment into the block in the 1990s which seen a pitched roof added in an attempt to eradicate dampness.
