Burdiehouse is a council estate in South Edinburgh. The houses within were constructed in the postwar period and are of the BISF (British Iron and Steel Federation) variety. Unlike other housing built in the 60s, the houses in Burdiehouse were built to last.
Burdiehouse underwent a refurbishment project at some point which removed the wood panelling and Critall windows from the houses. It was replaced by a concrete exterior with small orange and white rocks stuck to the outside walls.
