Cartside is a housing estate in Johnstone, near Glasgow. It was one of the first peripheral housing estates in the town built from 1923 to 1926. It lies between Kilbarchan Road estate, Howwood Road estate and Quarrelton.

Housing in the area is most commonly 4 in a block cottage flats. Usually they have 2 or 3 bedrooms and their own front doors ie without a common stair. The one bedroom flats are also in 4 in a block cottages. The ground floor flats have their own front doors although the two at the top can only be reached via the common stair.

It is one of the more infamous parts of Johnstone. Crime rate and antisocial behavior are high. Firemen have been known to refuse to answer emergency calls in the area for fear of being attacked. There is a higher than average turnover rate which means there are a high number of vacant properties.

It is within the 10% most deprived areas in Scotland.
