Churchill House was a 21 storey tower block on Plane Tree Road, on the Yew Tree estate in West Bromwich, now part of Wallsal. The design was the same as the other 3 towers of the Charlemont Farm estate, which in turn was based on the towers of the Pierre Collinet estate in Meaux, France, with some changes, such as the addition of windows for the originally open stairway, and the provision of balconies, as well as a reduction in height from 23 storeys. It was approved in 1964, and completed in 1966; it was 59 metres tall and provided 80 flats. Demolition took place on the 8th of November, 1996. Contractor was Gilbert Ash, using the Tracoba system.
