Craigend is a housing estate next to Garthamlock, Glasgow. Housing in the area is a mix of tenement flats and terraced housing. Those properties not owned by owner-occupiers are owned by the Glasgow Housing Association. The area was constructed in the 1970s to provide housing for those escaping the inner city slums and the street plan of Craigend is set out so as to provide a safe environment for its inhabitants with its numerous cul-de-sacs. While most of neighbouring Garthamlock has been demolished over the past 25 years, Craigend remains virtually unchanged since construction but has recently undergone renovations.
