Glenburn

Glenburn was the first housing estate built in Paisley during the 1950s (construction began in 1948). The scheme was a success, providing a mixture of terraced, semi and tenement properties for families escaping the slums of the town. Much of the tenement stock has since been demolished or is lying derelict awaiting demolition but the low rise housing remains with many properties bought using the tenants "Right to Buy". In the 1980s, a private housing estate was built on parkland near Foxbar. Indeed much of Glenburn is currently being developed as, like neighbouring Foxbar it is moving away from simply providing adequate, cheap housing to appeal to growing middle class society.

In 1966, two high rises were built on the border between Foxbar.
