Hume Point was a tower block that is known mostly for facing opposite block Ronan Point, which partially collapsed in 1968 after a gas explosion. It was part of the Freemasons Estate. Hume Point, alongside the 8 other blocks of the Freemasons Estate were demolished in 1986 by Newham Council after failing several safety tests.
