Knightswood is an area in the west end of Glasgow. It is bordered by Yoker, Scotstoun, Jordanhill, Temple, Garscadden, Bearsden and Anniesland.

It was built between 1921 and 1923 in an effort to alleviate Glasgow's slums during the inter war period. This makes Knightswood one of the first housing estates in the city, the other being Mosspark on the southside.

Housing in Knightswood is mostly cottage flats and semi-detached properties. A deliberate departure from tenements. However, there are some tenements that were introduced to the area at a later point largely due to financial implications.

Knightswood has an impressive reputation and is known around the city as a decent, affordable place to live. Strangely for an area of such affluence, there are many tower blocks. Knightswood conatins the 2nd highest amount of high rises in the city.
