McTaggart & Mickel were famous tenement builders in Glasgow during the late 18th century to mid 20th century. Among their projects were constructing tenements in Hyndland and building the Kelvinside and Kelvindale estates. They also built Carrick Knowe, and part of the Silverknowes housing scheme in Edinburgh in the 1930s.
