Smithstone is a new area of housing situated north-west of Craiglinn roundabout in Cumbernauld, Scotland. The area is the focus for new housing in Cumbernauld with the new area basically just an enlargement of the small area of Craiglinn. The new housing will total almost 1,000 new homes by 2008. There is more land available for the area to subsequently expand.
